A woman has revealed that men have tried to date her in order to get access to her flat which overlooks a Premier League stadium.
Noemi Oberhauser’s apartment is right next door to the G-tech Community Stadium in west London, the home of top-flight side Brentford.
As such, she has a perfect view of the ground, effectively given her a free ticket to a match every other week or so.
Understandingly, the 24-year-old singer loves her place and the view it gives, frequently sharing pictures and videos of her watching her beloved Bees on social media.
But Oberhauser admitted that that has had an inadvertent impact on her dating life, telling What’s The Jam: ‘I have quite a few people messaging me on Instagram about the apartment.
‘Mostly offering to come to watch the match with me and turning it into a little date.
‘A lot also comment saying things like “Marry me”. So, it is quite funny.’
Oberhauser, whose flat costs £1,200 a month, also admitted that she wasn’t a fan of Brentford or football in general prior to moving in, but that all changed very quickly.
‘The first apartment I viewed actually didn’t have the football view, so I didn’t know about the stadium until a bit later,’ she added.
‘Then I was told that all the apartments were taken, so they sent me over a video of a new apartment – this one – which has the football view.
‘That was the first time I actually saw the stadium view, and from that moment I knew I wanted to get it.
‘I’ve obviously been supporting Brentford ever since. I was never that bothered about football before, but now I am really interested. I even catch up [with matches] when I’m abroad!’
Brentford were promoted to the Premier League in 2021 and moved from Griffin Park, less than a mile down the road, to their current home the year prior.
Their fans, including Oberhauser and her friends, have certainly been treated this season, with Thomas Frank’s team unbeaten at home in seven games across all competitions, with six of those being wins.
This includes thrilling victories over Wolves (5-3) and Ipswich Town (4-3).
It’s a run they’ll be hoping continues on Saturday afternoon when in-form AFC Bournemouth visit.
