DR MOFOLUSHO OMOBOLA MONISOLA ROSANWO – MATRIARCH OF THE ADELEGAN FAMILY — A RARE GEM GOES HOME TO BE WITH THE LORD
A gentle soul, exceptionally brilliant lover and child of God became a medical doctor at the age of 20 years 7 months, totally submissive to her dear husband, highly cultured, warm and welcoming. As the matriarch of the Adelegan family, you cared for all your siblings and like your father, did good to all as if your life depended on helping others.
Our dad’s motto: ‘Audere et Pati” (to dare and endure) found expression in your life well lived to the glory of God. Children’s Evangelism was your area of interest in which you raised numerous children in the ways of the Lord. She rose early as a shining star which she was. In the evening she is found no more!
You fortified your faith in Christ by becoming an active member of the Scripture Union at the University of Ibadan in the 1960s when some of us foolishly derided SU as “ijo elekun”. We never realised our foolishness on time but glad that we eventually discovered Jesus Christ.
In periods of tribulations, you encouraged us, always quoting from the Scriptures. With teary eyes, I stopped attending to calls yesterday. It still sounds like a fairy tale that is not going away.
The loss started in 1958 with the death of Sade, my immediate junior sister at infancy when our dad patriotically relocated home from Ibadan to assist his community’s development in 1957.
Then came the losses of four other siblings in a row … First Class brains Sesan, Muyiwa, Bioye and Itunu. Six innocent souls in a row! Occurrences capable of melting a heart of steel but we hold on to the Old Rugged Cross.
We are convinced that you have been received in heaven by angels of the Lord praising you for your commendable services in His vineyard. Very painful, but what could one do other than to submit to the will of the Creator Who knows best. Nothing happens without the knowledge of God.
My faith was up until a few hours to your death that God would mercifully save you. God Almighty, the Most Powerful remains on His Throne forever. We remain in Christ and will continue to serve the Lord unwaveringly.
Your family friends in Liverpool and fellow Christians will be rewarded by God for their labour of love. They have really amazed me as true Christians at a very critical period! Indeed,
“the path of the just is like the shining sun, That shines ever brighter unto the perfect day”. Prov 4:18.
