It has been anything but a case of home sweet home for Nottingham Forest despite their strong start to the Premier League season.
Victory against Crystal Palace under the Monday night floodlights would be the first time the Tricky Trees have won on their own turf this term following 1-1 draws with Bournemouth and Wolves and a 1-0 defeat at home to Fulham.
Forest also crashed out of the Carabao Cup on the banks of the River Trent when they were beaten 4-3 on penalties by Newcastle following another 1-1 draw in normal time – and they will be without manager Nuno Espirito Santo on Monday, who begins a ban following his touchline shenanigans at Brighton.
But they have won 1-0 at Southampton and by the same score at Liverpool before drawing 2-2 with the Seagulls and 1-1 against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge last time out despite having James Ward-Prowse sent off in the 78th minute.
That’s good going and they can correct the home anomaly by beating the Eagles, who are still waiting for their first three-point haul this season.
Defeats to Brentford and West Ham were followed by draws with Chelsea, Leicester and Manchester United before a reversal at Everton and a 1-0 loss at home to Liverpool before the international break.
That leaves Oliver Glasner’s side in 18th place, aka the bottom three, with just three points and they need to start picking up wins or risk becoming cut adrift even at this early stage of the campaign.
Forest will be without Morgan Gibbs-White, who is suspended following the same incident at Brighton, but Chris Wood has scored four times for them this term and can add a fifth by breaking the deadlock at 13/2 with Unibet, BetUK and BetMGM while he is 5/2 with the same firms to score at any time.
Eberechi Eze can reply for the visitors and is 7/2 to hit the net at some stage.
Palace have failed to score three times this season, and one of those occasions was against Arne Slot’s defence which is the best in the division and the only time Forest did not get on the scoreboard was that 1-0 loss to the Cottagers so take the host to win and both teams score which is 4/1 with multiple firms.
