ASUP Zone A Zonal Coordinator, Dr Abdulazeeze Ibrahim Badaru, at a press conference in Abuja, said some of the pending issues include non-review of the suspended 2023 Scheme of Service, disregard for 25-35 per cent salary review in state-owned polytechnics, unpaid CONTISS 15 migration arrears for lower cadre staff, and interference by the National Board for Technical Education, NBTE, in academic processes.

Others are outstanding promotion arrears and non-implementation of promotions, delayed release of NEEDS assessment intervention funds, and exclusion of peculiar academic allowance in the post-IPPIS era.

Dr. Abdulaziz said government’s indifference to these critical issues has left ASUP members with stagnant wages, inadequate infrastructure, and undermined autonomy.

According to him: “ASUP demands immediate action on these issues; failure to comply within the 15-day ultimatum, we will embark on industrial actions, including withdrawal of services, peaceful protests, and media engagements.”
