The court’s decision effectively bars the PDP from holding the state congress, pending further proceedings.

The court issued the order in response to a lawsuit filed by a group of plaintiffs, including Igbawuwa Andover Alfred and others against the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and its officials namely the Acting National Chairman, National Organising Secretary and the Benue State Caretaker Committee Chairman.

Justice Theresa Igoche, the trial judge, heard the application for an interim injunction filed by the aggrieved members of the PDP on Thursday.
