The Coalition for Human Rights Advocacy in Africa, CHRADA, has called on the Rivers State Police Command to ensure that sponsors and collaborators of a suspect who recently bombed the Action Peoples Party, APP, secretariat in Port Harcourt are apprehended.

Newspot recalls that an Improvised Explosive Device, IED, was detonated at the party secretariat on Monday last week.

The Rivers State Police Command in a statement issued on Sunday by its spokesperson, Grace Iringe-Koko identified the prime suspect as one Preye Josiah.

The suspect is alleged to be one of those fueling the battle against Governor Siminalayi Fubara’s administration.

Reacting, the Center, in a statement signed by its convener, Dr. Joyce Idakwo said all suspects involved in criminal activities in Rivers State must be arrested by the security operatives.

The organisation, which accused some high-profile individuals in Abuja of masterminding some attacks in Rivers State, stressed that no one should be above the law, regardless of their position or influence.

The Centre, therefore, urged the police to arrest everyone mentioned by Preye as his collaborators, as available information shows that they are well-known but highly placed.

“If they are not held accountable, it will only be a matter of time before they recruit other bomb experts to terrorize the peace-loving people of Rivers State.

“We acknowledge that the police took over two months to arrest Preye, but we encourage them to salvage their image by arresting and prosecuting his sponsors and collaborators, including those within the Pro-Wike supporters”, the statement added.
