The Otun Olubadan of Ibadanland, High Chief Rasidi Adewolu Ladoja, has received the Ibadan beaded crown from the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Owolabi Akinloye Olakulehin Ige Olakulehin 1.

The ceremony took place at the new Olubadan palace located at Oke Aremo in Ibadan North Local Government Area.

The event took place on Monday.

Ladoja had earlier insisted that he would not receive the beaded crown.

The Otun Olubadan, however, received the beaded crown from the Olubadan on Monday.

The event was attended by the Deputy Governor of Oyo State, Abdul Raheem Adebayo Lawal.

Other personalities at the event included the Deputy Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Muhammad Abiodun Fadeyi.

Traditional rulers, political officeholders and well-wishers graced the event.

Newspot learnt that this is the first official duty to be performed by the Olubadan since his coronation on July 12.

Deputy Governor Lawal, while speaking, congratulated and commended the people of Ibadan for this development, stressing that the state government is committed to strengthening the traditional institution in the state to a pace-setting status worthy of emulation in the country.

Ladoja, in his remark, noted that the people of Ibadan are one and have ways of settling their misunderstandings.

“They said we should do it the way it is supposed to be done. Ibadan is capable of doing its own thing. We have ways of doing our things. Once we enter the inner chamber, you must realise that things will change. All the problems are a result of misunderstanding,” he said.
