Australian breakdancer Raygun lashed out of the IOC and her detractors following an astonishing Olympic debut.
The 36-year-old’s routine had the majority of the internet in hysterics last night as he she leapt and cavorted around the arena.
Sadly for Raygun, her performance failed to impress the judges who decided they couldn’t reward her with a single, solitary point following three rounds of heats.
Despite managing to finish only above disqualified Manizha Talash, Raygun remained optimistic about the future of a sport that has already been cut from the 2028 roster by Olympic chiefs.
‘It was disappointing it was decided that it wouldn’t be in LA, particularly before we even had a chance to show it,’ she said.
‘That was possibly a little premature. I wonder if they’re kicking themselves now?
‘What is an Olympic sport? What are the similarities between dressage and artistic swimming and the 100m sprint and the pentathlon?
‘Breaking is clearly athletic, it clearly requires a whole level of dedication across a number of different aspects. It’s really bringing a new level of excitement.’
In a typically cutting social media message, Raygun also hit back at what she perceived as criticism of her outfit which some compared to the uniform of a tennis line judge.
‘Looking forward to the same level of scrutiny on what the bboys [male breakdancers] wear tomorrow,’ she posted on Instagram.
In a separate post she said, ‘Don’t be afraid to be different. Go out there and represent yourself, you never know where that’s gonna take you.’
