Proverbs 18:21:
Death and life are in the power of the tongue….
Our tongue, or speech, can determine what our result will be. We want to speak life—and the words of God’s Word are life (Proverbs 4:20-22). When we speak, we can give thought and concentration to what we say, and then we hear it. As we say the Word over and over with conviction, we become more and more convinced. Choosing to confess God’s Word in our lives will draw us to the victory we so desire!
Psalm 19:14:
Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my strength, and my redeemer.
Choosing to speak the Word is a great way to keep our words acceptable in the sight of our Lord.
Let’s look at a few examples to help point us in the direction of what godly things we can confess.
Galatians 6:9:
And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.
We shall see good results as we continue to do good according to the will of God. We can state this truth to help get us through any situation we may face, knowing with full certainty we will reap if we faint not.
II Thessalonians 3:3:
But the Lord is faithful, who shall stablish you, and keep you from evil.
Another confession we can make is that God will establish us and keep us from evil.
Philippians 4:13 [The Amplified Bible (1987)]:
I have strength for all things in Christ Who empowers me [I am ready for anything and equal to anything through Him Who infuses inner strength into me; I am self-sufficient in Christ’s sufficiency].
We can tell ourselves that no matter what challenges we may face, we are fully equipped to prevail through the power of Christ in us. We are victorious!
What great power lies in our tongue! Choosing to gather our words from the Scriptures is a great way to help us keep our confessions aligning with God’s Word, drawing us closer to the victory we desire!
Don’t let what you cannot do interfere with what you can do. There is no greater harm than that of time wasted. I’ve failed over and over and over again in my life, and that is why I succeed. Never put off until tomorrow what you can do today. Iron rusts from disuse; water loses its purity from stagnation… even so does inaction sap the vigor of the mind. It is never too late to be who you might have been. The greatest hazard in life is to risk nothing. Do what you can, with what you have, where you are. Thinking will not overcome fear, but action will. Our greatest weakness lies in giving up. The most certain way to succeed is always to try one more time. There is no such thing as failure, only feedback. Success is never final; failure is never fatal. It’s courage to continue that counts. The only cure for grief is action. To achieve greatness, start where you are, use what you have, and do what you can. The biggest gap in your life is that between what you know and what you do. Things won are done; joy’s soul lies in the doing. Be not afraid of growing slowly; be afraid of only standing still. To get what we’ve never had, we must do what we have never done. Dream as if you will live forever. Live as if you will die tomorrow. Nobody can go back and start a new beginning, but anyone can start today and make a new ending. You will either step forward into growth, or you will step back into safety. The undertaking of a new action brings new strength. Our greatest glory is not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall. Action eliminates doubt. Yesterday is history. Tomorrow is a mystery. Today is a gift. That’s why we call it the present. Your big opportunity may be right where you are now. I must lose myself in action, lest I wither in despair. So many fail because they don’t get started.Action is the foundational key to all success. Every accomplishment starts with a decision to try. The longer you wait for the future, the shorter it will be. Lose not yourself in a far off time, seize the moment that is thine. Yesterday is gone. Tomorrow has not yet come. We have only today. Let us begin. If you cannot do great things, do small things in a great way. If you can’t fly, then run, if you can’t run, then walk, if you can’t walk, then crawl, but whatever you do, you have to keep moving forward. No matter how you feel, get up, dress up, show up, and never give up. Action is eloquence.
There are three things that we control that will improve the quality of our lives: the thoughts we have, the words we use, and most importantly, the actions we take.
Have great week of positive confession and positive action in Jesus name !
