Former England manager, Steve McClaren is among the coaches reportedly interviewed by the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, for the vacant Super Eagles head coach job.

The NFF are still in the hunt for a new head coach for the Super Eagles after Finidi George stepped down from the role last month.

Finidi took the decision to step down after the NFF announced it would hire an expatriate to boss him in the wake of the Super Eagles’ poor start to their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying campaign.

According to SCORENigeria, the NFF has held talks with McClaren, who is currently part of Erik ten Hag’s coaching crew at Manchester United.

He managed England from August 2006 to November 2007 before being sacked after failing to qualify for Euro 2008.

Another coach on NFF’s radar is former Gambia national team coach, Tom Saintfiet.

The Belgian is currently in charge of the Philippines national team.

Saintfiet has coached Namibia, Zimbabwe, Ethiopia, Malawi and Togo in the past.
