The Bauchi State Independent Electoral Commission, BASIEC, has postponed the date for the local government area election to the 17th of August, 2024.
Executive Chairman of BASIEC, Ahmed Makama, made this known in a statement on Friday.
Makama said the initial plan to hold the elections on August 10 could not be sustained due some reasons he did not disclose.
He called on political parties and other stakeholders to note the new adjustment and tidy internal mechanisms ahead of the exercise.
