Stuttgart striker Serhou Guirassy has rejected the chance to join Arsenal and has decided to make the move to Borussia Dortmund, according to reports in Germany.
The 28-year-old had attracted widespread interest ahead of the summer transfer window after scoring 28 goals in the Bundesliga last season.
Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United were among the Premier League clubs who had registered their interest in Guirassy, although Chelsea dropped out of the running earlier this week.
AC Milan had also Guirassy on their summer shortlist alongside Chelsea’s Romelu Lukaku.
Guirassy had already indicated that he wanted to leave Stuttgart this summer and is available due to a relatively modest release clause of just under €20 million (£16.9m).
Reports this week had claimed that Dortmund were concerned over the threat of Arsenal in the race to sign Guirassy.
The report adds that Dortmund have nearly tripled Guirassy salary, which was worth £65,000 a week at Stuttgart.
Dortmund are also understood to have offered a signing-on fee in excess of €10m (£8.4m), which rival clubs were not prepared to match.
In total, Dortmund’s package including transfer fee, wages and signing-on bonusis worth just over €60m (£50.7m).
Earlier this month, Arsenal were dealt another blow in their search for a new striker as Benjamin Sesko opted to remain at RB Leipzig.
