Newspot recalls that the EFCC charged Ikuforiji alongside his former Personal Assistant, Oyebode Atoyebi, with 54 counts of money laundering involving N338.8 million.

They were granted bail after pleading not guilty during their first arraignment in 2012.

The trial had lasted over 12 years and passed through two trial judges before the judgement date was fixed.

The Defence Counsel, Dele Adesina, SAN, called three witnesses, including Ikiforiji who testified that he was being prosecuted based on a faceless petition.

The court acquitted Ikuforiji of all 54 counts on Monday.
