Juventus have cooled their interest in signing Mason Greenwood from Manchester United and have instead switched attention to Jadon Sancho, according to reports.

Greenwood has just finished the season on loan at Getafe and United are now open to selling the forward on a permanent deal this summer.

The 22-year-old has not played for United since his arrest in January 2022 for attempted rape, controlling behaviour and assault.

All charges against Greenwood were dropped in February 2023 and United had considered reintegrating him back into Erik ten Hag’s squad before the club received major backlash over his return.

Juventus are among the clubs who have expressed an interest in signing Greenwood, with reports in Italy claiming that the Serie A club had proposed a £40m deal.

However, The Sun reports that Juve’s push to sign Greenwood is ‘on hold’ after a section of supporters raised concerns over the club’s move.

The report claims that Juventus are now exploring the possibility of signing Sancho, however, they are not prepared to meet United’s £40 million asking price.

United are also open to offers for Sancho after he was frozen out of the first team by Erik ten Hag last September following a public row over his effort levels in training.

Sancho has refused to apologise to Ten Hag and the winger was allowed to return to Borussia Dortmund on loan in January.

Dortmund, who sold Sancho to United for £73m three years ago, are keen to keep the 24-year-old for another season.

However, the German club are also desperate to fund a move for Ian Maatsen, who also thrived on loan for them last season, but Chelsea are holding out for a club to trigger the Netherlands international’s £35m release clause.
