The Edo State Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, Paul Okpe on Friday said 426 personnel and 23 vehicles would be deployed for special operation during next Sunday’s Eid-el-Kabir celebration in the state.
Okpe, who disclosed this to newsmen in Benin City said the personnel are made up of 158 officers and 368 marshals.
Newspot reports that the Sector Commander also added that the 23 vehicles deployed include 18 patrol vehicles, three ambulances, one power bike and one tow truck
“The Sallah special operation is geared towards ensuring hitch-free movement. The operation is aimed at achieving a great reduction in road traffic crashes during the period of the celebration and beyond.
“The equipment deployed was to ensure speedy removal of obstruction from the highways and prompt response to road crashes and accident victims among others”, he said.
