The Bauchi State Civil Service Commission has suspended three senior civil servants for alleged serious misconduct, including breach of trust, forgery, and misappropriation.
Their actions were said to have violated Public Service Regulations 0327 (a) and (b).
The suspension of the senior officers was contained in a statement issued to journalists on Wednesday by the Information Officer of the commission, Saleh Umar.
The Bauchi Civil Service Commission suspended the three civil servants during its 21st plenary session held on June 11, 2024.
The suspended officers are Yakubu Muhammad, Chief Accountant Grade Level (GL) 14 with the Ministry of Health; Surajo Shehu Ilela, Principal Executive Officer (Accounts) with the State Treasury Department; and Umar Muhammad Misau, acting Assistant Chief Administrative Officer GL 13 with the Establishment and Servicom Matters Bureau.
According to the statement, Misau’s acting appointment was withdrawn during the plenary, and as a result, he has reverted to his substantive rank of Principal Administrative Officer on GL 12 pending further investigation.
The commission also confirmed the appointment of a substantive state librarian on GL 17 and a director of Engineering Services.
Similarly, in the course of the session, four acting directors and two acting deputy directors of Administration and Human Resources were considered and approved.
The commission also approved the confirmation of two officers as acting Chief Administrative Officer on GL 14 and Principal Administrative Officer on GL 12, respectively.
