A thirteen man committee, assigned with the responsibility of distributing farm inputs in Taraba State, has been inaugurated by Governor Agbu Kefas.
Inaugurating the committee on Friday through his deputy, Alhaji Aminu Abdullahi Alkali, the governor charged members of the team to discharge the assignment with fairness and integrity.
While emphasizing the importance of the committee to the state, the governor mandated them to work in line with the policies and programmes of his administration for food security.
Responding on behalf of the committee, the chairman, who also doubles as the Commissioner for Agriculture and Food Security, Professor Nicolas Nemesan, assured the governor and the people of the state of transparency and accountability .
He assured that the inputs would be made available to all the eligible beneficiaries spread across the one hundred and sixty eight wards of the state.
He urged the beneficiaries not to be disturbed as the committee, according to him, would work round the clock to prevent the input from being diverted.
The ongoing agriculture policy in the state, the commissioner believed, would not only make a lot of people embrace farming, but would also lead to bumper harvest.
Some farmers who spoke with Newspot, urged the committee to work round the clock to prevent businessmen and politicians from hijacking the process.
