The Joint Admissions And Matriculation Board, Ebonyi State Office, Abakaliki graced the 12th Matriculation Ceremony of the Alex Ekwueme, University, Ndufu-Alike, Ikwo on Friday, 10th May, 2024.
The Registrar, Prof. Is-haq O. Oloyede, who was unavoidably absent sent his felicitations to the University Council and the Matriculants of 2023/2024 Academic session on the auspicious occassion of the University Community through the JAMB State Ag. Coordinator, Mrs Doris O. Enoch.In his remarks, the Registrar urged the matriculating students to be diligent and shun social vices that could detract them from their studies.
Earlier, in his address, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Sunday Oge Elon, disclosed that in the current 2023/2024 academic year, 5,139 freshmen from different parts of the country would be joining the institution. He congratulated the students on their good fortunes, which he attributed to their outstanding performances at both the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and the Senior Secondary School Examination.
He urged them to be “humbled by the fact that only a little over 5, 000 of them have been offered this opportunity out of the over 10,000 candidates that competed for places at the university,” hence, they must justify their selection with good behaviour and good grades throughout their time in the university.
The Ag. Coordinator on behalf of the Registrar stated that JAMB through the State Office has harmoniously worked with AE-FUNAI since inception to achieve great success in admissions.She also commended the Deputy Registrar/Head, Admissions Unit, Mr. Noble O. Onukwe, for laying the foundation for the laudable admission structure of the University, which had made the admission exercise much more seamless, candidate-friendly, transparent and robust.
