Moises Caicedo has not had the most memorable first season for Chelsea but he has finished it in style with a stunning goal on the last game of the campaign.

The 22-year-old arrived from Brighton last summer for an eye-watering fee of £115m and unsurprisingly that has been very difficult to live up to.

The Blues are finishing the campaign strongly, though, with four straight Premier League victories ahead of the last game of the season against Bournemouth on Stamford Bridge.

Caicedo has waited till now to open his account for Chelsea and he may well never score a better one as he found the back of the net from the centre-circle.

Bournemouth goalkeeper Neto came charging out of his penalty area to clear a through ball that Raheem Sterling was running onto.

The Brazilian managed it but could only find Caicedo just inside Chelsea’s half with his clearance. The Ecuadorian strode forward and launched the ball towards the empty goal from the half-way line.

The goalkeeper may have been out of his box but it was still a fabulous effort as the ball soared into the net before Neto could get back to where he needed to be.

It was proving to be a wild final day of the season as before half-time across the country, West Ham’s Mohammed Kudus had also netted a screamer.

The Ghanaian forward produced a beautiful overhead kick to get on the scoresheet for the Hammers at Manchester City.
