The director of the Abuja School of Social and Political Thoughts, Sam Amadi, made this known in a post on his X handle on Monday.

Amadi’s statement followed Obi’s visit to Lamido, who was a governor from 2007 to 2015 and a prominent member of the Peoples Democratic Party.

Reacting to the development, Amadi described politics as something that could be morbid and lighthearted at different times.

The former Executive Chairman of the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission, NERC, wrote on X: “Politics can be morbid; it can also be lighthearted. I toast to this friendship. I remember during the strategy session for Atiku I argued that @PeterObi should be taken seriously as he has mobilized the youths. Gov Lamido boasted that if Peter gets 1m votes he would go on exile.”

Newspot recalls that ahead of the 2023 election, Obi moved to the Labour Party from the Peoples Democratic Party, a development many observers said affected the performance of the latter in the election.
