This role requires a dynamic individual with strong sales acumen, strategic thinking, and a deep understanding of the freight industry. He/She will identify new business opportunities, cultivate relationships with potential clients, and collaborate with internal teams to develop tailored solutions that meet client needs.Key Responsibilities:1. Develop and implement strategic business development plans to achieve sales targets and revenue goals2. Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the freight-forwarding and logistics sector, including key accounts, industries, and geographic regions3. Build and maintain strong relationships with prospective and existing clients, understanding their business needs and challenges to offer customized solutions4. Conduct market research and analysis to identify trends, competitor activities, and opportunities for growth5. Collaborate with the operations team to ensure smooth execution of client projects, providing ongoing support and addressing any issues or concerns6. Prepare and deliver presentations, proposals, and contract negotiations with potential clients, demonstrating the value proposition of our services7. Monitor sales performance, track key metrics, and prepare regular reports for management review8. Stay updated on industry developments, regulations, and best practices to maintain a competitive edge and capitalize on emerging opportunities9. Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and networking functions to enhance brand visibility and expand professional network10. Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to the sales team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.Required profile for job ad : Business Development Manager

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Economics, or any related field
  • Proven track record of success in business development and sales
  • Strong understanding of the dynamics of the Nigerian economy
  • 3-7 years working experience in similar position
  • Good connections and network across diverse industries
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with clients and internal teams
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to identify opportunities, solve problems, and drive results in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficient in CRM software, Microsoft Office suite, and other sales and marketing tools
  • Leadership experience with the ability to motivate and inspire a sales team to achieve targets and exceed expectations
  • Willingness to travel as needed.
