Job description: Executive Chef – Five Star Luxury Hotel, Lagos, NigeriaOur client is operating one of the largest luxury five star properties in West Africa and is currently looking for a dynamic Executive Chef to lead the culinary department and take the overall culinary product to new heights of excellence.With a brigade of over 60, this role will oversee 6 F&B outlets and large banqueting for over 1,500 guests. This is an exciting opportunity to join one of the leading Hotel companies in the region and be part of their exciting expansion plans.Key attributes for candidates :
- Prior Sub Saharan African experience a big plus
- Used to working in hardship or remote locations
- Outstanding logistic skills
- Excellent mentor and trainer
- A creative all round culinary professional with very good banqueting skills who is used to working daily with high volumes of guests
- Self starter who thinks on their feet and gets the job done
- Must possess a solid background in the five star market
- Must currently be working as Executive Chef in a large property with over 200 rooms plus multi F&B outlets and large banqueting operations.
- Comfortable managing large multi cultural teams effectively and sensitively
- Formal qualifications – City and Guilds or equivalent
- Excellent business acumen and sound guest contact skills
- Must be able to display a stable tenure in their last three roles
- A great communicator who is fluent in English
