Unknown gunmen were said to have killed Alaba Abey, the Returning Officer of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Supare Akoko, ward 10 of Akoko Southwest Local Government in Ondo state.
The deceased was the Returning Office of the APC in the just concluded primary election that produced Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa as the candidate of the ruling party in Ondo State.
His death was confirmed on Sunday by his elder brother, Samuel Abbey, FCA.
According to him the deceased was assassinated on Saturday night 27 May at about 9 pm in front of his house after returning home.
