Arsenal hero Theo Walcott has made a fresh Premier League title prediction with his former side in a tense battle with Manchester City and Liverpool.
The Gunners have moved back to the top of the table with a 2-0 victory at Wolves as they got back to winning ways after losing to Bayern Munich and Aston Villa.
Arsenal have City and Liverpool breathing down their necks, though, as the north Londoners attempt to lift the Premier League trophy for the first time in 20 years.
Pep Guardiola’s team, who won last season’s title after Arsenal’s late capitulation, have a game in hand over their two title rivals but Walcott is backing his old club.
‘Yes, I do,’ Walcott told Sky Sports when asked if he felt Arsenal would go on to win the title this term with five games left.
‘It’s these games I don’t think you’re going to have to get yourself up for, you’re just made for it.
‘These are players that want to make the difference and to create history and to change that pattern.
Remaining games for the title rivals
Arsenal: Chelsea (H), Tottenham (A), Bournemouth (H), Manchester United (A), Everton (H)
Manchester City: Brighton (A), Nottingham Forest (A), Wolves (H), Fulham (A), Tottenham (A), West Ham (H)
Liverpool: Everton (A), West Ham (A), Tottenham (H), Aston Villa (A), Wolves (H)
‘City, I feel like Brighton and Tottenham, they’ve got a lot to say. Liverpool again, Fulham away, Everton away.
‘There’s some tough fixtures. But Arsenal, I expect them to get the points in those games.’
Fellow pundit Jamie Redknapp added: ‘Manchester City are incredible, but they’re not quite the same level.
‘Anything can still happen, like what Manchester City did by winning that cup game [against Chelsea on Saturday] after the disappointment when they played so well against Real Madrid.
‘I think they showed you everything about that side and the manager and the courage they showed to win that game.
‘But it only takes a slip up. It’s not going to be that easy at this time of the season.’
