Pep Guardiola believes Liverpool are now favourites to win the Premier League title after Manchester City’s goalless draw with Arsenal on Sunday.
Jurgen Klopp’s side were forced to come from behind in Sunday’s early kick off as goals from Luis Diaz and Mohamed Salah sealed a 2-1 win over Brighton at Anfield.
Arsenal and City then cancelled each other out in a tight stalemate at the Etihad Stadium.
Sunday’s results mean Liverpool are now two points clear of Arsenal at the top of the Premier League, while champions City are three points behind and have a worse goal difference.
And Guardiola feels Liverpool are now in the driving seat to win the title.
Asked if Liverpool are now clear favourites to win the league, Guardiola replied: ‘Yeah, the one who is first is favourite.
‘The second favourite is Arsenal and we are the third.’
Asked if he is concerned that City will not have enough games to overtake Arsenal and Liverpool, Guardiola said: ‘It’s not in our hands.
‘All we can do is in the next game against Aston Villa try to win the game. That’s all we can do.
‘When we were top of the league we were favourites, it was in our hands and now it’s not, so it’s simple.’
