EASTER HOMILY: In These Difficult Times New Dawn Awaits Nigerians- Primate Ndukuba

The Archbishop Metropolitan and Primate of all Nigeria of the  Church of Nigeria Anglican Communion Most Rev’d Henry Ndukuba X- raying the resurrection of Christ said Nigerians though passing through excruciating difficult times would soon see a new dawn in their  situations.

The Primate who was the celebrant and preacher at the Cathedral Church of The Advent Gwarinpa in Abuja took part of his exhortation from Isaiah 25: 7-8 which says:

“And he will destroy in this mountain the face of the covering cast over all people, and the vail that is spread over all nations. He will swallow up death in victory; and the Lord GOD will wipe away tears from off all faces; and the rebuke of his people shall he take away from off all the earth: for the LORD hath spoken “

Drawing from this passage he assured  Nigerians that ” things are about to change for good”  as devout Christians they should have  absolute faith in Christ resurrection .

Primate Ndukuba emphasized that Jesus suffered.  He was mercilessly beaten , nailed to the cross died and buried for Satan to think he   he had won but Satan was wrong as in the third day he resurrected and brought victory and joy to innumerable people all over the world.

1 Corinthians 15 . 55-57 says:  “”O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.”

This Primate Ndukuba this passage pointed out  that:” It is a proof that Jesus is alive till today as we keep celebrating and worshipping Him. His power of change and transformation are always around us so long we keep our faith unshakable.  He has power over agents of darkness as written in      Ephesians 6.  10 – 13   “Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. ¹¹ Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the ^[b]wiles of the devil. ¹² For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of ^[c]the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. ¹³ Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.   Jesus  gone down to the hades to wrestle and overcome Satan and his cohorts, achieved victory and risen Alleluia !!!

The risen Lord,   the Primate said  had given us eternal hope.  “Sin has no dominion over us anymore we are overcomers”.

Corruption is a spirit of greed.Poverty is the worst behavior. “To set us free from this greed is to have Jesus. Because he lives and  we can face tomorrow with hope and victory.
