The Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Abdulrosheed Adewale Akanbi, has described the death of the Chief Imam of Iwoland, Sheik AbdulFatahi Olododo, as a colossal loss to the Muslim Community in Yorubaland.

This is as Oba Akanbi commiserated with Fojugbagi compound of Iwoland, Oluwo Central Mosque and the entire Muslim Community of Yorubaland over the demise of the late Islamic cleric.

He said the late Imam was an unadulterated face of Islam in Yorubaland who upheld the incontrovertible leading status of Iwo in Islamic history.

Oluwo added that his stance on fairness as thought by the Islamic culture produced Olododo as the Chief Imam.

The monarch, who said he will continue to toe the path of honour in managing the mosque, made this known in a condolence message by his press secretary, Alli Ibraheem, on Friday in Iwo.

“Iwo has a unique Islamic history. The reign of Olododo was firm in upholding the Islamic status of Iwo. He was an unadulterated face of Islam.

“He became the Chief Imam on fairness. Many worked against his choice but I stood with truth. I will continue to toe the path of honour in making any appointment.

“I pray to God to forgive his shortcomings and grant him Aljana Firdaus.”
