Raheem Sterling’s stance on potentially leaving Chelsea in the summer transfer window has been revealed after his FA Cup nightmare on Sunday.
Sterling struggled in the 4-2 win over Leicester City and the England international was jeered by his own fans after being substituted at Stamford Bridge.
The 29-year-old missed a penalty in the first half and Mauricio Pochettino was forced to defend his player after the quarter-final victory.
Sterling joined Chelsea less than two years ago from Manchester City in a £47.5m deal and it has been suggested that he could already be heading for an exit.
There is interest from clubs in the Saudi Pro League but according to The Independent, Sterling is set to snub any offers from them as has no interest in leaving Chelsea and is determined to win over Blues fans.
Sterling is thought to be keen to win major silverware for the west Londoners and remains happy at the club despite his nightmare weekend.
He has ‘privately acknowledged’ that his performance against Leicester was poor, according to reports.
Sterling has made a total of 74 appearances for Chelsea to date, producing 17 goals and 14 assists.
He issued an apology after the win over Leicester and said: ‘To all the Chelsea fans, apologies for the penalty miss.
‘I’ll be back 10x times stronger to help the team win and continue to keep fighting for the badge every single day. Let’s go Blues.’
