The Zamfara State House of Assembly, attorney general of the state, police and Department of State Security, DSS, have been dragged to court by eight members of the state assembly who claimed that their suspension was illegal.

However, the police and DSS said that they were yet to be served the summons.

The counsel to the eight suspended state lawmakers, Barrister Ibrahim Alli, subsequently agreed to a later date for the matter to be heard to allow them to serve the respondents who said they were not served.

The presiding judge, Justice Aminu Bappa, granted the motion and adjourned the case to April 29, 2024.
