The wife of the Niger State Governor, Hajiya Fatima Mohammed Umaru Bago, has decried the situation where female political appointees in the state are more concerned about themselves than impacting the lives of those around them.

Mrs Bago raised the concern while addressing women at the 2024 International Women’s Day celebration organized by the State Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development in Minna.

She noted the need for women political appointees to rise and contribute their quota to the efforts of Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago-led administration by impacting the lives of residents of the state.

According to her, ” We women are our own problem. We were not appointed for ourselves but to impact the next person. Some are empowering themselves, no one is stopping you but impact on others”

“All female political appointees need to wake and assist those around them no matter how little. Let’s have a rethink, let’s have a strategy to help others. If you are using your money for business, use the profit to impact”.

The commissioner also explained, “It was organized to bring international and national attention to problems confronting women all across the world in line with the New Niger Agenda of the Farmer Governor Muhammad Umaru Bago’s administration.
