Geri Halliwell, the wife of Red Bull team principal Christian Horner, is reportedly considering leaving her husband over his F1 scandal.
Horner was forced to make a statement on Thursday after a series of texts related to the probe into his alleged ‘inappropriate behaviour’ were leaked online.
Halliwell, who found fame as Ginger Spice from pop group the Spice Girls, was said to have been left ‘stunned’ and ‘humiliated’ by Thursday’s revelations before a second wave of alleged leaked texts dropped on Friday.
Horner was cleared of any wrongdoing by Red Bull on Wednesday – and the team principal has always denied the claims – but the saga looks far from over ahead of the first Formula One race of the season in Bahrain this weekend.
It emerged on Friday that the female employee who accused Horner believes she has been ‘crucified’ by the nature of an investigation that reached a swift conclusion earlier this week.
The Daily Mail now report that Halliwell is facing the ‘biggest decision of her life’ and it could well be the end of her marriage to Horner.
Sources have told the newspaper that Halliwell ‘acts on impulse a lot’, ‘has a temper on her’ and went into ‘meltdown’ over the first batch of leaked texts.
Despite the couple’s marriage being ‘in question for the first time’, Halliwell is planning to be at Saturday’s Bahrain Grand Prix in a public show of solidarity.
It is thought that she will be at Horner’s side on the pre-race grid before the action gets underway.
Red Bull star Max Verstappen is on pole for the race and has offered his support to Horner.
