Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Junior Accountant to jointhe Accounting team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting withvarious accounting tasks and financial activities within the organization. Thisis an excellent opportunity for someone who is eager to learn and grow in thefield of accounting within the construction industry.
Responsibilities:
1. Assist in maintaining accurate financial records including accounts payable,accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
2. Prepare and process invoices, expense reports, and other financial documentsin a timely manner.
3. Reconcile bank statements and ensure accuracy of financial transactions.
4. Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities including preparationof financial reports and statements.
5. Support the senior accountants and finance team in financial analysis,budgeting, and forecasting.
6. Assist in coordinating with internal departments and external stakeholdersto resolve any accounting discrepancies or issues.
7. Stay updated on relevant accounting regulations and compliance requirements.
8. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the finance manager.
Requirements:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
2. Previous experience or internship in accounting or finance role preferred.
3. Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
4. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
5. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
6. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
7. Attention to detail and accuracy in work.
8. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
10. Must be willing to work in Lagos, Nigeria.
