Tijani was well-regarded for his passion for collecting sports memorabilia and his extensive knowledge of Nigerian and African sports history.
He was also active on social media, where he shared timely sports news and information with his numerous followers.
Tijani had a successful career as a sports presenter and correspondent, and he also established his own media outfit, ‘Sport Xclusive,’ where he worked as a television sports analyst, producer, and visual content consultant.
Tijani had over 29 years of experience as a print and broadcast journalist, working with prominent media outlets such as the Guardian Newspaper, Complete Football Fame magazine, and Channels TV.
He will be remembered for his contributions to the field of sports journalism and his rich library of historical videos on Nigerian and African sports heroes.
Tijani is survived by his wife, children, siblings, and other relatives. He was laid to rest according to Muslim rites on February 8, 2024, at Atan Cemetery in Yaba, Lagos. May his soul rest in peace.
