Manchester City were pleased that Liverpool lost to Arsenal and Pep Guardiola’s side were the ‘biggest winners’ from the weekend.
That’s according to Jamie Carragher, who feels City are in a stronger position following Arsenal’s win at the Emirates.
The Gunners revived their title bid with a 3-1 win against Jurgen Klopp’s side, thanks to goals from Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard.
Liverpool’s lead at the top was cut to two points as a result, with City five behind with two games in hand.
It’s shaping up to be a three-way title race, with Tottenham and Aston Villa in behind.
But Carragher says City view Liverpool as their closest challengers, and will be pleased that Arsenal won.
‘You said before you think Arsenal might have the edge of Liverpool and Liverpool are more clinical.
‘I think Manchester City will look at Liverpool as a big threat in terms of the title because we’ve been there before and we’ve got players who’ve done it before so for me, tonight, I think the biggest winners are Man City.’
