A group, Pipeline Infrastructure Nigeria Limited has reacted to what it describes as the spurious and unsubstantiated allegations fabricated and circulated by some groups and individuals.
Recall that a group, under the name Niger Delta Grassroots Coalition, had recently alleged bias in Nigeria National Petroleum Company Limited, NNPCL’s pipeline protection contracts in the Niger-Delta
“We challenge those who are the real instigators behind these falsehoods to have the courage to reveal their true identities,” Pipeline Infrastructure said in a press conference addressed by its Delta State Coordinator, Dr Benson Onuwaje and Akpos Mezeh, the group’s Public Relations Officer.
The group, which is placed in charge of pipeline security in the region and formerly Chaired by late Captain Hosa Okunbor, warned the individuals behind what it called fake news to desist from such, adding that no amount of blackmail, falsehood, or propaganda will make them patronize or negotiate with those who are not aligned with the requirements of their work.
“This style of hustling is already archaic and no longer fashionable.
“We are confident that our operations are significantly contributing to the region’s development.
“We categorically reject this false and fabricated news circulating about our contracts. We implore those making these baseless claims to educate themselves on the intricacies of our operations before making unfounded accusations.
“We are aware that these accusations may be driven by external influences or individuals collaborating with our rivals.
“I want to reiterate a fundamental principle that the Niger Delta does not belong to any particular tribe; it is for all of us.
“It’s essential to recognize that the Niger Delta belongs to all of us, and nobody should attempt to claim exclusivity.”
