Xavi accused his Barcelona players of being ‘one of the teams with the worst finishing in Europe’ after his side’s 1-1 draw with Valencia on Saturday night.
Joao Felix opened the scoring for Barca at the Mestalla but Hugo Guillamon earned a point for Valencia with his equaliser in the 70th minute.
Barcelona had plenty of chances to win the game with Ilkay Gundogan and Raphinha both squandering excellent opportunities in the second half.
And after the game, Xavi made it clear how unhappy he was with his side’s lack of cutting edge in front of goal.
‘We deserved to win, we did everything. What happened over the past weeks with regard to effectiveness was repeated,’ Xavi said.
‘This match pretty much summarises the season for us. We train finishing but it depends on the players’ confidence.
‘We have to be one of the teams with the worst finishing in Europe. I am very frustrated today.’
The result leaves Barcelona third in La Liga and six points behind La Liga leaders Girona, who play Alaves on Monday.
Real Madrid, meanwhile, currently sit second in La Liga and could a point clear at the top of the table on Sunday evening if they beat Villarreal.
