A Nigerian Political Scientist and public administrator , Prof Tunji Olaopa has called for the need to provided quality education across universities in the country.
Prof Olaopa who is the new Chairman of Federal Civil Service made this known while delivering his speech at the 16th convocation ceremonies of LeadCity University Ibadan.
In his speech , Olaopa revealed that education is a source of enlightenment as it is the responsibility of government at all levels to bring about the growth of education in the country.
He however lamented that education has been dislodged in the country as some stakeholders at the federal level do not show interest in building the young ones for a better tomorrow.
While speaking on the creation of more universities in Nigeria, Olaopa challenged the federal government to properly fund existing institutions in terms of good academic environment that is suitable for students to learn , payment of staff salaries as at when due among others.
Moreover, on the issue of the Academic Staff Union of Universities [ ASUU], and the Nigerian Labour Congress [NLC}, Prof Olaopa said that this is the time in which both unions should endeavour to stand their grounds without any compromise and uphold what is good.
