Job description: About the Role:

BURN is looking for a Maintenance Technician who will be responsible for the repair, maintenance, and troubleshooting of various systems, equipment, and machinery on the factory floor. They will play a crucial role in ensuring that equipment and facilities are operating efficiently and effectively.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Attending preventive maintenance and breakdowns, identifying root causes, and developing solutions with minimal downtime to production.
  • Carry out troubleshooting/ diagnosis of faults and the maintenance and repair of all types of plant equipment in a safe timely and professional manner.
  • Escalation of breakdown root causes, equipment faults and concerns.
  • Implement the maintenance procedures and working procedures.
  • Carry out maintenance of Jigs and fixtures.
  • Interpretation of machine manuals and best practices to offer solutions.
  • Reduce MTTR (mean time to repair)
  • Record maintenance spare parts used and inform the MRO of maintenance requirements.
  • Provide training on equipment to junior technicians and operators.
  • Update and maintain all associated maintenance logs.
  • Support shifts as required by production demands.
  • Carry out safety audits of the equipment and ensure safety features are always working correctly.
  • Identify Continuous improvement ideas and implement them as appropriate.

Skills and Experience

  • Minimum diploma in Mechanical/Mechatronic Engineering.
  • 5+ years of experience in the repair and maintenance of machines in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with maintenance and set-up of mechanical and hydraulic presses.
  • Knowledge in maintenance and set-up of laser cutting machines.
  • Knowledge of electrical work is an added advantage.
  • Able to work on shift bases.
