The Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja will deliver judgement on the Rivers State governorship election on Tuesday.
The camp of Rivers State Governor Sim Fubara had earlier alleged that former Governor Nyesom Wike plans to use the courts to remove him.
The former governor, now Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, is said to be ready to throw his weight behind another candidate from another party in a fresh election.
The All Progressives Congress (APC) had appealed the judgement of the Governorship Election Tribunal, which upheld the election of Fubara of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in a petition by its candidate, Patrick Tonye-Cole.
The three-man panel of the tribunal, in their judgement, dismissed the petition of Tonye-Cole for lacking merits on the grounds that he lacked the power to independently challenge the victory of Governor Fubara without his political party, amongst other grounds.
