Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed has hailed the Court of Appeal judgement which validated his election on Friday.
Mohammed, in a post on his verified X account, said, “It is a testament to my unwavering dedication to delivering the dividends of democracy to our citizens.”
An elated Mohammed urged opposition parties in the state to unite and back the #NewBauchiProject, dedicated to revitalizing Bauchi State.
“I, therefore, call upon the opposition parties within our state to unite and support the #NewBauchiProject, an initiative committed to the rejuvenation of Bauchi State.”
Expressing appreciation, the governor extended gratitude to the Bauchi State Peoples Democratic Party leadership and his supporters.
“This victory belongs to all of us, and I promise to lead with the excellence you rightly anticipate.
“Let’s together script a new era for Bauchi State, defined by progress, marked by progress, unity, and prosperity.”
Newspot reports that the Court of Appeal, Abuja Division, affirmed the victory of Mohammed as the Governor of Bauchi on Friday.
It would be recalled that following the declaration of Mohammed as the winner of the gubernatorial election by the Independent National Electoral Commission, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Sadique Abubakar, approached the governorship election petition tribunal to challenge the result.
But the tribunal affirmed Mohammed’s victory.
Not satisfied with the tribunal’s judgment, Abubakar filed an appeal at the Court of Appeal, challenging the decision of the lower court.
