The candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the just concluded gubernatorial election in Imo State, Samuel Anyanwu, has resumed his office at the party’s National Secretariat.

Anyanwu, who lost the poll to the candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, Hope Uzodinma, is the National Secretary of the PDP.

Newspot reports that despite moves by some party stakeholders, demanding the resignation of Anyanwu prior to the Saturday election, he has remained the party’s National Secretary.

Addressing staff of the National Secretariat on Tuesday, Anyanwu thanked members of the party for their support during the election.

Newspot recalls that Uzodinma had polled 540,308 votes to beat Anyanwu, who scored 71,503 votes in the election.
