Jurgen Klopp was not thrilled with the setting of his press conference in Toulouse

Jurgen Klopp’s post-match press conference on Thursday night in Toulouse was one of the noisiest he has ever had to deal with and he wasn’t impressed.

Liverpool were beaten 3-2 in the Europa League in France, a result which Klopp admitted was deserved after a below-par performance from his team.

His mood was not improved by the post-match presser, which was made difficult by loud chanting and drums, presumably from Toulouse fans extremely nearby.

Klopp was struggling to hear questions and was obviously distracted by the noise throughout, also complaining about the route to the presser.

Of his team, he said: ‘We were as good organised as the way to the press conference. Brilliant. Chaotic.’

After answering a few questions amid the din, Klopp responded with one of his own, asking: ‘Who had the idea to have the press conference here? That would be a really interesting question. Wow!’

It was a bad night for Klopp and his side, as they went two goals behind through Aron Donnum and Thijs Dallinga.

A Cristian Casseres own goal gave the Reds hope, but Frank Magri put Toulouse 3-1 up with 15 minutes to play.

A superb Diogo Jota goal just before 90 minutes kept the game alive and it appeared that Liverpool had pinched a draw through Jarell Quansah at the death, but it was ruled out due to a handball from Alexis MacAllister.

Klopp felt his side were harshly done by, but admitted he was more worried about his team’s poor performance than the officiating.

‘I saw the video back and for me it’s not a handball, but how can I decide that?’ Klopp said. ‘The ball goes to the chest and I don’t see a contact with the arm, to be honest. Maybe they have a different picture than I had.

‘It’s pretty long ago before we score the goal. It was like, “where’s the free-kick.” That’s interesting, we can talk about that.

‘I’m a bit more concerned that I would love us to play better, that’s my main issue tonight. In a football way, more aggressive.’
