Overview of position:

Working under the overall supervision of the DDRR Project Officer & under the direct supervision of the ICRS Project Officer, the successful candidate will be responsible for the planning, implementation & monitoring of ICRS field activities including outreach & reconciliation, socio economic, mental health & psychosocial support activities & delivering assistance to ICRS beneficiaries. The ICRS project activities will be directly supervised by the ICRS Officer as the individual case management component of the DDRR program in Nigeria.

Role objectives:

Support the implementation of the ICRS activities in the field locations including outreach & reconciliation, socio economic, mental health & psychosocial activities as well as conduct service providers mapping exercise & identify local partners for possible cooperation in assisting the target population.

Provide relevant information to beneficiaries & receiving communities, counsel beneficiaries on appropriate socio economic opportunities / services & projects, make referrals to partner organizations for opportunities as well as facilitate business startup kit delivery & monitoring.

Conduct family tracing & support beneficiaries & family reunification & follow up to ensure beneficiaries wellbeing are met.

Conduct sensitization to prepare community for beneficiaries’ reintegration, acceptance & coordinate rapid response interventions to ensure mitigating rejection & stigma.

Offer mentoring / coaching / monitoring & counselling assistance to beneficiaries on business activities & ensure good implementation of approved beneficiaries projects / grants efficiently & effectively & report accordingly.

Assist in the documentation of success stories, lessons learnt & impact of the ICRS activities & coordinate closely with program teams to draft weekly & monthly plans & reports as well as adhoc activity reports on weekly basis.

Represent DDRR program in consultation with ICRS Officer & / or Team Leaders in the field coordination meetings as well as meetings with community counterparts, implementing partners & other relevant stakeholders & ensure maintaining of friendly, open & professional communications.

Identify cases on MHPSS that require specialized institutional support & coordinate referral as necessary & facilitate nonspecialized psychosocial counselling support for individual beneficiary or family as well as bereavement support as necessary.

Perform any other related duties assigned by Project Coordinator or ICRS Project Officer or Team Leaders.

Provide psychological first aid to the target population when they arrived the community & when need be.

Project reporting:

This role will work under the overall supervision of the DDRR Project Officer & under the direct supervision of the ICRS Project Officer.

Key competencies:

Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Economics or other relevant Social Sciences or an equivalent combination of education & training.

Minimum 2 years of experience in income generating / livelihood projects, business development, community economic development, conflict resolution, community participation & / or psychosocial projects, ideally in the humanitarian sector.

Previous work experience with an international organization will be considered an asset.

Computer literacy including analytical skills, excellent interpersonal skills, ability to work with minimum supervision, ability to travel extensively & work long hours, a drive for results & ability to handle multiple tasks.

Fluency in English & native languages is advantageous.

Experience in ICRS activities.
