Some suspected billboards thieves and vandals have been arrested in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital.
The Acting Director-General of the state Signage and Advertisement Agency, KWASSA, Imam Ismail Asukuti, disclosed this in Ilorin on Friday.
He warned against theft of signboards, and billboards among others, calling on the general public to desist from the acts of vandalization of both government and private individuals’ signboards, billboards and other signage properties in the state.
Asukuti said the agency would not spare anyone involved in acts capable of tarnishing the image of the body in the signage industry.
He reiterated that advertisement practitioners would surely not invest in any state where people of the underworld steal and remove billboards.
In his words, “let me tell you, the agency would not allow or watch some miscreants in the society steal people’s properties in the state.”
Asuki warned that anyone caught would be dealt with appropriately within the ambit of the law.
