The Association of Metre Manufacturers of Nigeria, AMMON, has drummed support for the Minister for Power, Adebayo Adelabu.
The president of AMMON, Engr Ademola Agoro, and its secretary, Engr Duro Omogbenigun, disclosed this on Wednesday in a statement.
Newspot reports the development amid criticism from electricity sector workers for not engaging stakeholders upon his appointment.
But AMMON said Adelabu has begun bilateral engagement with stakeholders to address the country’s power sector challenges.
“Unlike typical politician ministers, Adelabu demonstrated knowledge of the sector and evidence of carefully incubating potential solutions to the issues facing local manufacturers of metres.
“The Honourable Minister also informed the association that he is presently on a bilateral engagement with all stakeholders further to understand each player’s challenges in the power sector.
“As a body, we are pleased that we have a minister who is not only a successful politician but one who is patriotic, ready to work hard, understand sectoral issues and deliver performance while using both his professional and business acumen to reposition the sector.”
