Chilwell was thrown back into the starting XI for Wednesday night’s match and lasted the full 90 minutes as the Blues recorded a 1-0 win at Stamford Bridge.
The England international has seen his playing time reduced in recent weeks with Pochettino favouring Levi Colwill.
Chilwell may now be set for even less playing time, although Pochettino says the 26-year-old’s new injury will be assessed tomorrow.
‘We need to assess tomorrow but we think it was hamstring,’ Pochettino said in his post-match press conference.
Pochettino, speaking more generally about the win over Brighton, added: ‘It was a good response from the team, I am very pleased with the performance.
‘It was important for us to go through and we hope we can keep this momentum.
‘I’m very pleased [for goalscorer Nicolas Jackson] – it’s important, he needed to find the net.
‘I think all of the team was really good. Cole [Palmer] is a very talented player, he was key in this victory.
‘He is still young, he still needs to settle in the club, not only the team, the city.
‘Today was a must-win, we needed to win this game. In the second half we dominate the game and we fully deserved the victory.’
Pochettino also admitted that Noni Madueke was not injured for Wednesday night’s clash and was simply not selected.
Chelsea are back in action on Monday when they travel to Fulham in a west London derby.
