The police in Jigawa State have arrested 30-year-old Hassan Adamu, a security man, over the alleged stealing of Government Girl Unity Secondary School, Kazaure, properties.
Spokesman of the command, DSP Lawan Shiisu Adam, confirmed the arrest in a statement issued to Newspot.
According to him, “One Bashir Ahmed, a Vice Principal at Government Girls Unity Secondary School Kazaure, reported at Kazaure Police Station that on Sunday at about 1700hrs, he discovered that some of the school properties were stolen by unknown persons.”
He said after police received the report, a surveillance squad attached to the Kazaure Division stormed one shop at KanGada quarters in Kazaure LGA, where one Hassan Adamu of Bornu-Kishi village, Yobe State, who happened to be a security guard in the school, was arrested with two sacks containing the following items:
He explained that some of the recovered items include a printer machine, minicomputers, ceiling fans, and a disc receiver.
DSP Shiisu said after interrogation, the suspect confessed to having used a master key to open the store and steal the items.
He said the investigation is going on to recover the remaining stolen items and will be charged in court for prosecution.
