The Corps Commander Artillery (CCA), Major General Markus Kangye, has charged troops of 35 Artillery Brigade to respect the rule of law, remain loyal and uphold the tenets of military discipline and professionalism at all times.
Major General Kangye made the call on Saturday, September 23, 2023, during his familiarisation visit to Headquarters 35 Artillery Brigade, Alamala Barracks, Abeokuta, Ogun State.
“As soldiers of the corps of artillery, who are known for effective training and provision of the needed firepower support to all Nigerian army operations, you must be disciplined, which, beyond being a core value of the Nigerian Army is critical in artillery operations,” he stated.
He disclosed that the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja, has placed a high premium on the welfare of troops, as evidenced in the recently proposed affordable housing scheme for soldiers, adding that the effort is aimed at boosting the morale of troops as well as ensuring they maintain a high standard of fighting efficiency in all Nigerian Army operations across the country to rid the country of all criminal elements.
While admonishing them to shun all forms of unprofessional conducts, fraternisation with unauthorised persons, especially during operations, he charged them to key into the command philosophy of the COAS which is “To transform the NA into a well-trained, equipped and highly motivated force towards achieving our constitutional responsibilities within a joint environment.”
He called on the troops to participate actively in all training activities to enhance professionalism.
