The time for talking is almost over with the Rugby World Cup 2023 set to kick-off on Friday – with two of the tournament favourites set to lift the curtain on the opening night.
This will see hosts France welcome New Zealand to the Stade de France in Paris in a heavyweight showdown in Pool A.
Les Blues have never got their hands on the iconic Web Ellis Cup – neither have world number one test side Ireland, who are a serious contender to last the distance over the seven weeks.
The beaten finalists from four years ago, England, will not be able to call themselves amongst the favourites due to a hugely disappointing 2023 season which has seen them struggle with form and discipline.

Reigning champions South Africa, who last month recorded their biggest ever victory over the All Blacks in a warm up game at Twickenham, are third favourites at 10/3.
Eddie Jones’s Australia, who play Wales in Pool C, are 10/1 with the bookies.
England, meanwhile, at 12/1 to add their second World Cup title exactly 20 years after their very first.
England’s opening day opponents, Argentina are 20/1 under former Aussie coach Michael Cheika.
Wales are 30/1 whilst the hugely talented Scottish side being priced at 30/1 is surely due to their nightmare draw placing them with South Africa and Ireland in Pool B.
