Justice Haruna Tsammani said Obi failed to prove the allegations of non-compliance with the Electoral Act during the last presidential election.

Tsammani highlights the issues of corrupt practices that Obi alleged marred the election, including suppression of votes, inflation of votes, alteration of results, and overvoting.

The presiding judge pointed out that some paragraphs relating to these allegations had earlier been struck out for being too vague and generic without any particulars.

He noted that Obi failed to provide any credible evidence to prove his allegations of “suppression of votes, wrong computation of results, manipulation of results, and inflation of results.”

On overvoting, Tsammani said Obi could not “specify the number of votes and the margin of lead affected by overvoting” and, therefore, “the petitioners failed to establish the allegations of corrupt practices.”
